6/16/2024: From Marg’s Notes: Marg was lazy? She didn’t write in the journal.
From our AllTrails post: Beautiful. We went all the way to Huckleberry point on Phelps Lake. The trail is closed up by the lake for maintenance, so we did a connection across the bridge after we went to the lake and back. We saw a mother bear and her cub.
- 6.0 miles lollipop loop (if bridge is fixed, it is a 3.5 mile loop)
- Difficulty: Easy
- Elevation gain: 300’
- Traffic: Modest
- Getting There: No issues, other than it is very crowded. To get a place to park in the parking lot, get there before 9:00 am.
- Trail Obstacles: None (unless bears count as trail obstacles). Bridge was closed in 2022, but likely fixed now.
